How do I close my account?

Once the account is closed, the account will be permanently closed and can't be retrieved.

Getting Started

  1. Open your OKX TR on the app or web and go to User Center

  2. For the app version, go to Profile and settings, select Security. Select Account management, then select Close account. Alternatively, you can close your account on the web by navigating to the Security Center and select Close Account.

    Once in, select Account management and select the Close account section

  3. Closing your account is permanent and irreversible.

    • If you still want to close your account, select Continue to close

    • If you still want to use your account someday in the future, select Freeze instead

  4. Select Reason to close account

    • Instead of closing your account, you can also select to:

      • Freeze account

        Select your reason for closing the account to proceed

  5. Select Continue to close if you still want to close

  6. Select I understand after checking what'll happen to Your account, Your personal information, and Your orders after closing your account and select Continue

  7. Review your account assets in Trading, OKX TR account balance, Web3 wallet balance (if your wallet is connected to your exchange account), untradable assets, and select Continue

  8. Close account after your reconfirmation

  9. Get SMS/email and authentication code and Confirm to close the account

Can I still use the same information to register if I changed my mind?

After your account is closed, you can reuse your phone number, email, and identity information to create a new account or link to an existing one.
