How do I link an authenticator app?

Make your account more secure by linking an authenticator app. You can use any authenticator app you prefer, such as Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator.

Note: you can change your authenticator app anytime you like. However, to secure your assets, you won't be able to withdraw funds within 24 hours of changing your authenticator app.

How do I download the Authenticator App?

There are two ways to get the authenticator app, through the OKX TR app directly, or by downloading it from your device's app store.

Option1: Download app through OKX TR app

1. Open the OKX TR app

2. Go to the Main menu and select Profile and Settings

3. Navigate to Security

4. Under Authentication methods, select Authenticator app

5. Follow the prompts to download and begin setup

Option2: Download from your device's app store

For Apple devices: Search for the authenticator app in the App Store and download it.

For Android devices: Download the app from Google Play (your device must be able to access Google services). It's also available on other major app stores, including Huawei AppGallery, Xiaomi App Store, OPPO App Store, and vivo App Store.

If Microsoft Authenticator isn't available in the app store on your device, try installing one of the app stores listed above first, then download it from there.

How to link the authenticator app to your OKX TR account?

Once the app is downloaded, you'll need to link it to your OKX TR account. Before you begin, you'll need to complete email and phone verification first On the app

1. Open the OKX TR app

2. Go to the Main menu and select Profile and Settings > Security

3. Under Authentication methods, select Authenticator app to start linking your authenticator app

   

   Select Authenticator app under Authentication method

4. Open your authenticator app and either scan the QR code shown on the OKX TR setup screen, or copy the setup key displayed below the QR code and paste it into your authenticator app manually. You can name the account for easier identification if you have multiple accounts.

5. Check the latest verification code displayed in your authenticator app and enter it in the New Authenticator App field on OKX TR to complete the setup.

On the Web

1. Log in to your account at tr.okx.com and go to the security center (Profile > Security)

2. Find the Authenticator app and select Set up

   

   Find the Authenticator app under Authentication methods

3. Open your existing authenticator app, or download and install one if needed. Once your authenticator app is ready, select I've downloaded one to continue

4. Use your authenticator app to scan the QR code, or manually enter the setup code in the authenticator app

   1. Note: As different applications may have different interfaces or settings, you may follow the instructions in your authenticator app

5. Once you've added your OKX TR account to the authenticator app, select Continue

6. Verify new authenticator app by obtaining the 6-digit verification code from your app and Confirm to complete linking.

Note: make sure to securely store your private key during setup. If you change or lose your phone, you may not be able to log in without it. For your security, withdrawals will be disabled for 24 hours after your authenticator app is reset.
