Hey fam, as we approach the rollout of OMI to Gem on November 19, I know many of you have questions about the mechanics, including how it will work, whether there are fees, and as always, how much OMI will be burnt.
While we will be releasing an article covering all of this in detail, it appears that a screenshot was leaked without context, which has led to some misinformation about a “fee” that I think is important to clear up.
First and foremost, there is no fee paid by the user for utilizing OMI to Gem.
If a user spends $100 worth of OMI to buy 100 gems, they will receive 100 gems.
You do not pay $110 worth of OMI to buy 100 gems, nor do you receive 90 gems for spending $100 worth of OMI.
The section labeled “fee” is a combination of OMI burn and tokens to be held by StackR for business operations.
We look forward to providing more information as we get closer to the rollout of this next utility for the OMI token, and we welcome your questions and feedback once the information is released so that we can continue to provide utilities and features for the token that powers where the world collects.
