🐦‍⬛ Kusama might migrate to JAM before @Polkadot — even before JAM passes formal audits? 👀 Why? Because it helps de-risk the transition. But Kusama OpenGov will have to decide. And there’s one catch…🧵👇 1/ The problem? JAM might be ready before the parachains service logic and tooling are. So even if Kusama wants to move, the infrastructure may lag behind. Technical readiness ≠ Ecosystem readiness. 2/ What about a shared validator set between @kusamanetwork and Polkadot under JAM? @gavofyork says: sounds interesting, but it’s messy. 🧩 DOT or KSM? ⚖️ Who gets slashed? 💸 Who earns what? Token economics gets tricky fast. 3/ But here’s the thing It’s hard. It’s complex. But maybe, just maybe, it’s the right direction. I remember in a conversation with @KevinWSHPod, Gavin shared a bold idea: Separate the network from the token. Just like nations have their own currencies but share global trade networks — blockchains could do the same. 4/ Imagine: • DOT and KSM remain independent • But both secure the same JAM network • Tokens float like currencies • Users carry a basket of assets, and networks auto-convert to the most efficient option Like FX, but for blockchains. 5/ No more “my token vs your token.” No more network tribalism. Just shared infrastructure and interoperable value. A truly neutral base layer — where security is a service, and tokens are flexible. Sounds like JAM? It should. 6/ Gavin’s vision is still early. But @Polkadot might be the best place to test it. After all, DOT and KSM already live under one roof. If they can cooperate — maybe everyone else can too. Very interesting idea~ what’s your take on it?
