I’ve been thinking about how medieval castles used layered walls, moats, towers, and kill-zones to protect the fortress and it honestly reminds me of how modern protocols build their security.
Using @rails_xyz lately made me notice how many “layers” they actually rely on on-chain custody, batching proofs, audits, and the off-chain engine all reinforcing one another.
Castles didn’t rely on just one wall. Strong protocols don’t rely on one safety mechanism either.
It’s the stacking of defenses that makes the whole structure feel trustworthy, even under stress.
