It’s great to see the BitVM Alliance growing. Scaling Bitcoin is one of the most important areas in crypto today - enabling trust-minimized DeFi functionality on top of it may prove to be the defining product of this cycle.
GOAT Network has officially joined the BitVM Alliance, to jointly advance Bitcoin-based BitVM implementation and optimization. The BitVM Alliance, initiated by BitVM creator Robin Linus and early contributor Lukas George, brings together the earliest teams dedicated to advancing BitVM as a practical scaling path for Bitcoin. The Alliance’s goal is to coordinate efforts on the first BitVM Bridge, establish common verification standards, and improve security and efficiency through cross-project collaboration. GOAT Network is proud to join this effort, having joined the conversation over the past few months, and witnessing first-hand the quality of thought and collaboration across teams. It’s rare to see this level of alignment at such an early stage, and the GOAT contributing team is honored to be working alongside a truly elite group of builders. As part of the Alliance, GOAT contributes its work on BitVM2 — a variant that integrates a decentralized sequencer to build a Bitcoin-native zkRollup. This design introduces the concept of a Universal Operator, addressing double-spending risks and improving challenge efficiency, representing a key step toward deploying BitVM2 in a real Bitcoin rollup. In June, we launched the BitVM2 Alpha Testnet, followed by the Beta in July. The Beta demonstrated real-time proving for the first time in a Bitcoin zkRollup, significantly improving operator capital efficiency by reducing withdrawal delays and collateral lockups. Read more here: Looking ahead, GOAT is leading research on Verifiable Arithmetic Garbling for BitVM3, which aims to dramatically slash the cost of Assert and Disprove transactions. Read more here: The BitVM Alliance greatly reduces ecosystem fragmentation, accelerates progress toward shared goals, and ensures the protocol develops with rigor and transparency. Together with fellow Alliance members, GOAT Network is committed to building BitVM into Bitcoin’s most secure, robust, and programmable scaling solution.
