Introducing Chainlink State Pricing—a new pricing methodology optimized for crypto and tokenized assets that primarily trade on decentralized exchanges. State Pricing is now available for a variety of assets via Chainlink Data Feeds & Data Streams. 🧵👇
Chainlink State Pricing was created with two main goals in mind: • Provide devs with more choice & flexibility in how onchain assets can be priced • Support a wider range of onchain assets that have limited trading volume on centralized exchanges, but notable onchain liquidity
The methodology underpinning Chainlink State Pricing was developed in collaboration with leading data providers and based on feedback from a wide variety of users. It’s purpose-built to meet the unique requirements of DEX-traded assets, including: • Comprehensive DEX and blockchain coverage • Aggregation of state prices and liquidity metrics • Flash loan attack and intra-block MEV resistance • Compatibility with Data Feeds & Data Streams And much more.
State Pricing complements Chainlink's existing pricing methodologies, providing developers a multitude of options for pricing their crypto assets and tokenized RWAs:
State Pricing is already being supported by Top DeFi protocols: • @GMX_IO for second-to-second views of onchain liquidity • @aave for reliably pricing DEX-traded assets • @Lido’s is offering a state price feed for wstETH • @Curve is providing AMM pricing data for stablecoins
Assets trading primarily on DEXs may be subject to higher market risks due to their liquidity and trading volume. Users must perform their own risk assessments when using State Pricing to determine if the feeds meet their requirements and adjust protocol parameters accordingly.
