I’ve spent enough time around this space to say this with confidence: The next generation of crypto isn’t being designed in conferences in my honest opinion... It’s being brute-forced in messy dev chats, late-night commits, and rough demos during events like these. So if you think DEX routing can be better, go build it. If you think the yield landscape is broken, prototype a fix. If you just want to be around the people actually shipping things, show up at Hackatons. Curious fact: @1inch was born at the hackathon, like many other colossus. Which is funny and cool to now see them hosting their own hackathons to back early-stage builders. $525K prize pool is nice, sure. But the bigger prize is accidentally starting the next 1inch in my opinion. A thing that, like every other protocol, most people miss about 1inch... It wasn’t VC-funded at birth. It wasn’t a whitepaper idea. It was hacked together in 36 hours at an ETHGlobal event, by two devs frustrated that DEX routing sucked. That’s what hackathons actually are: Not marketing bullshit. Not meme prizes. We can even call them pressure cookers where real DeFi infra gets shaped lmao Uniswap V2’s ERC20<>ERC20 swaps? Hackathon. Aave flash loans? Hackathon. Gitcoin? Hackathon.
