I joined crypto full time with a viral rap video that landed me a spot in a 70-person youtube bootcamp.
It was 2020 and I'd just finished working on a big project at Samsara ahead of the IPO. I'd always wanted to work on crypto since dipping my toes in during the '17-'18 Ethereum ICO boom. Found an opportunity after I was accepted into the bootcamp, I decided to move fast and take the leap.
One thing led to another:
Made educational videos for brands like Opensea, Sandbox, and Zengo.
Joined Alchemy and built the playbook for impactful developer education community programs with @VittoStack. On many nights, we'd stay up til 3am wiring up the next week's tutorials, email blasts, and NFT mints, and then running gtm with our amazing ambassador community. We partnered with amazing teachers from @0xProject, @LensProtocol, @chainlink, and others to reach over 100,000 blockchain devs, and many folks from @AlchemyLearn ended up landing full time jobs in crypto. Our proof of knowledge nfts showcased the power of digital assets in building community by providing identity and motivation. People went ham to complete tutorials asap so that they could earn the badges like they were sneaker drops.
But the Alchemy University orchestration came with a huge cost. In addition to the fundamentals (docs, content, and community management), we spent a TON of hours cleaning up fake data, dealing with bots, and distributing NFTs.
Rolled up my sleeves with an @ETHGlobal hack to solving sybil farming and reputation problems that turned into @deformapp 🫠. When people started flooding our DMs to buy our anti-spam forms and campaigns, I realized we were onto something. Co-founded @megaphone_hq 📣 with @unhappiimochii to tackle token marketing, brand loyalty, and onchain equity.
Worked with brands like @sanrio, @base, @ofc_the_club, @Forbes, @helloSQD, @gizatechxyz, @Farcaster, @developer_dao, @matchaxyz, @ensdomains, @Optimism and many others to identify, activate, and reward quality onchain users.
Since then, we've powered a record-breaking 19-minute $6.3M coinlist token sale, served 25M+ wallets with social and onchain engagements, and now we're about to launch Megaphone V2 and some big airdrop campaigns 👀. And yet it still feels like day 1, hacking away from our office, having fun with crypto, and changing the industry one brand at a time.
