So we know that @BambiLands will / should eventually get that @Somnia_Network Multipler boost But all this drama in the last 72 hours? First off, I’m still bullish.. Let me break down how it’s affected the overall macro vibes for both Somnia and Bambi 🧵👇
Right now Special “Bambi Lads” role on Discord Integrated quest participation maybe No Quest Somnia Point Multiplier YET!!!! But when they do, I am pretty certain the NFT floor will go uppppp! I minted 1 and purchased 2 so far (8/13)
Day 1 kicked off with an unprofessional announcement on July 27th Then @lokithebird and @Cjay_BTC spread it across CT, reaching people who hadn’t even heard about it yet, me included
What happened next wasn’t really a surprise, some Somnia holders dumped their NFTs. The @Somnia_Network NFT project took a hit. Sentiment turned bearish Could’ve just been miscommunication, but either way, damage was done.
We saw that reflected on Ethos earlier this month too, when there was many people reflecting and fighting against these ratings and there was somnia and monad taking shots at each other earlier this month but that said, i am still bullish on somnia tech and team
Almost immediately, the somnia team Aleksamil_ and address the situation, I applaud for the fast response here and the sentiment started to heal, check out this cute post by @ErwinEfend1
The Somnia team did talk with @BambiLands from the start, but paused the boost after discovering art closely referenced the @quillsadventure Despite updates from Bambi, miscommunication & unresolved concerns led to delays, not a lack of response
Explanation re Bambi situation. Today I saw the statement from the Bambi team that they did not receive any communication from Somnia, which is untrue, so I will share with you the exact breakdown and timelines. Bambis asked for the eco support which we provided before and around the mint. Following the successful mint, the Bambi team asked us for a role on Discord and the boost on the platform. We gave them the role almost right away, but when we learned about the issue with the Bambi art - we needed to take some time as a team internally to discuss and decide the next steps. After doing so, I went back to the team and asked them to update the art as the NFTs were an obvious replica of the Quillie art. Of course, it’s a common practice in the web3 space to use similar traits, to do a bit of borrowing here and there; but an obvious copy paste of the Somnia’s OG collection was not something we could support as an ecosystem. I would also add that I had a call with the Bambi team, screenshared the art comparison, shared my concerns and asked for their comments on the same. Their explanation was not what I found to be satisfying. Following that call, I asked the team to update 9 art pieces that were in question, and a direct replica of the mentioned art, and provided them with the deadline. However, the team came back and updated 1 trait (the exploding head) and 2 bodies (radioactive and zombie). This was provided in a google doc. This was Thursday (June 19th) - I was still in Asia, and me and Bambi team had a significant time zone difference. On Friday (June 20th), I was really unwell and went offline earlier. Over the weekend (June 21st and 22nd) I traveled back to Europe - I was in flight and at airports 25+ hours and still feeling unwell, so no - I didn’t work and respond on a weekend being sick and traveling between continents and time zones. On Monday (June 23rd), I responded in a DM to a team member agreeing to the changes - even tho it was not in line with what we requested - and informed him that I would get back to them regarding the boost as there are dependencies. I was traveling this week, as you all know, and I updated my name on Slack accordingly so people are aware that there might be a delay in my response. Today, I am back to work, and Bambi was on my to do. Statements made that the Bambi team did not receive any response from the Somnia team are completely untrue. In addition to that, we wanted to have a call with the Quills team to talk about the situation, and find a way how we can resolve the situation between the two projects before taking any further actions. We care about our projects and Somniacs, and we want you and us to build and grow together. Until the issues were fully resolved, we didn't feel comfortable adding them to the ecosystem page. To be clear, we intended to give the boost to Bambis since the very beginning, but considering the situation, we waited for it to be resolved. For full transparency, Loomia is a very new project in development - and we never received any information whether the contracts have been audited, what is the status, plans there… If you look at our eco page, we have projects that are already established and have been in the space for some time; or we have information about the audit plans and others. There are many amazing community projects that we did not list simply because we cannot guarantee the safety of the apps. We are working on creating a space for these projects with necessary disclaimers so the community can take necessary precaution measures. I chatted with the Bambi team, and it turned out that the team member I chatted with in DMs - did not inform the rest of the Bambi team about my Monday message. Confident this elaborates the situation.
A lot of new NFT collectors started, and minted Bambi minters got in, and of course, this is crypto, we all hope our bags pump instantly. Of course, when the floor price goes below the mint price, it goes into anarchy, so I can know and feel what the Bambi team is going through, which forced them to make that public announcement. I understand it, but nevertheless, it wasn't professional. But they did. Having been in the space for years, let’s be real: some NFTs moon, but most don’t. Over time, most go down.
