Blockchain isn’t magic — it’s engineering. ⚙️
Over the next few weeks, we’ll break down how blockchains actually work — from consensus to tokenomics — and how Cronos fits into the bigger picture. #themoreyouknow
Let’s start at the core: what makes a blockchain... a blockchain? 🧵

Every blockchain begins with a single building block. Literally. 🧱
But what’s inside that block — and how does it turn simple data into an immutable ledger? Let’s break it down 👇
A block contains three core parts:
🧾 A list of transactions
🕒 A timestamp & reference to the previous block (the “hash”)
🔐 A cryptographic proof verifying its authenticity
Each new block builds on the last, forming a chain — the blockchain.
This chain design means that if someone tries to alter one block, all the hashes after it break — making tampering computationally infeasible.
Immutability isn’t magic — it’s math. 🔢
Blocks are added using consensus mechanisms (such as Proof-of-Stake on Cronos POS chain) that keeps everything fast, final, and secure.
🗒️ Each block adds one more layer of trust to a public and transparent ledger.
Up next: how do blockchains actually agree on what’s true?
That’s where consensus comes in. Stay tuned!
