quick, incomplete sketch capturing some ideas from friday's opepen space
again challenging the idea that token ≠ image and treating the protocol itself as artwork (proposing this as what you would see on opensea or similar)
at first glance complex, but a first pass at the bigger goal of collapsing the complexity that lives between the marketplace view of the image that the token points to and the opepen specific web interface
an approach like this would aspire to contain the entire interface/game in the "token" view where 99% of people discover it (at least today)
instead of leaning out of the granularity and nuance of the protocol, lean all the way in

not a perfect analogy but one thing I always thought of as magic and truly new/crypto native artifacts are uniswap position tokens

loosely speaking, far more representative of what the medium enables you to "own" than an image
and to zoom out a bit on the earlier point of leaning into detail/nuance - that's largely the opposite prescription for "adoption" as you are obviously adding giga cognitive load by doing so
but (speaking for myself) we are much better at that than making toys and cartoons
and to totally contradict that point and offer the paradox: the current assumption of token = image is completely underselling the depth and beauty of digital property rights
