Tron currently ranks 9th by market capitalization, and its network is effectively run by just 27 Super Representatives a highly centralized structure.
Yet, $USDT on Tron accounts for 42.35% of the total supply, the second-largest share after Ethereum, amounting to an incredible 77.52 billion USDT in circulation.
There have been various negative rumors, though the exact reasons remain unclear. Still, I personally believe that such a massive concentration of $USDT within an extremely centralized network isn’t sustainable in the long run.
It would be great to see Cardano, a network that’s deeply decentralized, practically censorship-resistant, and capable of native token transfers without relying on smart contracts capture part of the $USDT market share currently dominated by Tron.
