NEST: A Foundation for LDO Buybacks A proposal to build a modular and future-proof system for repurchasing of LDO with stETH from the Lido DAO Treasury is now live for voting. If approved, the first practical test buyback is expected in December 2025. ↓
NEST - Network Economic Support Tokenomics - is a response to ongoing LDO buyback discussions. Whilst not a buyback proposal, NEST lays the technical groundwork for possible buyback mechanisms in the future.
Design NEST is a modular extension of STONKS – a set of smart contracts enabling secure treasury swaps. It has been designed to streamline stETH → LDO swaps, with LDO automatically sent to Lido DAO Treasury.
Proposal Scope This proposal covers only the development of the NEST rails. Activation will require a separate onchain vote.
