Bitcoin staking is coming to @Starknet and it’s one of the most exciting upgrades yet
It brings BTC into the consensus with up 25% weight, while STRK remains the anchor at 75%. Rewards for BTC stakers comes from new issuance, so STRK APR is preserved.
With WBTC, LBTC, tBTC and SolvBTC approved l, plus governance rules for adding new wrappers, Starknet is showing how Bitcoin’s idle capital can be transformed into real security aligned incentives.

SNIP-31 is officially ratified. Bitcoin staking is coming to Starknet, with the following parameters:
- BTC staking power weight set at 0.25, giving BTC up to 25% influence in consensus power, with the rest allocated to STRK
- WBTC, LBTC, tBTC, and SolvBTC approved for staking on Starknet
- Governance rules for approving new BTC wrappers are now set
The official launch will take place in the coming weeks.
