This @WalrusProtocol is the decentralized file layer on Sui: programmable blob storage for video, game assets, and AI models, verifiable, fast, and self-healing. Storage that works like code, built for real apps & agents.
The @WalrusProtocol token you use to pay for storage on the Walrus network, very very clean and simple... The payment system is built to keep costs steady in fiat terms, so users aren’t hit by big swings in the WAL token’s price over time. When you pay for storage, you’re essentially locking in a set period for your data to be kept safe. The WAL you pay upfront is spread out over that time and paid to storage nodes and stakers for providing the service. This setup keeps the network financially healthy while giving users confidence their files will stay secure and available. To kick things off, Walrus has set aside 10% of WAL’s supply for subsidies in the early stages. These subsidies help bring in new users by letting them store data for less than the going market rate, while still making sure storage providers can run profitable operations.
