Ico is using Bluefin Pro You should too:
Proof of Doing: (07.25.2025) Today - We're testing out Bluefin Pro (biggest DeFi App and perp dex on Sui) I've talked with my friends at Sui and I think the way we're gonna do this is a brief "hey here's how this works and how I got started on it" and then we'll circle back in a week or so and see how my trades have gone and give some thoughts on the platform itself. To tie this back to what we talked about last week, Bluefin doesn't explicitly use DeepBook liquidity, but they do store all of the orderbook data on Walrus, so it's cool to see composable ecosystem products in use. They *just* announced their migration from Beta to Pro, so this is an early look. I'm not the *most* prolific perps trader by any means, but I've tried a bunch of them over the past couple years and have a decent feel for what feels right and what doesn't... Let's begin ____________________ 1) Get funds to your Sui account. Very easy if you don't already have funds. I use the Slush wallet and you can bridge in funds very simply from most chains using squid router/allbridge (for stables)/any CEX ramp/etc. Slush is developed in-house by Mysten Labs (Sui developers), but you can also use Phantom if you don't want to try a new wallet since they integrated Sui last year. 2) Deposit USDC into your perps account This part is also pretty straightforward - once you get to the pro interface on bluefin it's just the deposit button at the top next to your wallet link. I converted $500 USDC for the test run (as a general rule I try to keep testing amts small when I'm trying new platforms in case of catastrophe 😂) 3) Pick your perp contract This part is just like any perp platform - pick the pair/asset you want to trade. I'm messing around with the BTC contract for this example. As you can see from the screenshot, OI is pretty low across the board right now, but I *think* that's because of the migration from beta to Live this morning. 4) Set your orders Bluefin has the market and limit orders you'd expect from any serious perp platform, but they also have trigger/conditional orders that can be set to trigger various events (retests/rebounds/etc) - I'm looking forward to seeing how well these execute. So there's me snagging a bit of BTC on a market order (I've since closed this position and set some limits to try to catch downswings). _______________________________ And that's pretty much it - it's really easy to get started and the txns on Sui are extremely fast. The market close I did on my BTC order was practically instant. I'm going to trade on it over the weekend and we'll update early next week. I want to see how good liquidity is and see if OI can start meaningfully increasing (or if there are incentives that come in for that/etc). Also noting how much fees impact things. Taker fees are slightly cheaper than HL base tier. Maker fees at .005% is good. Let's see how it goes! -ico
