Things I'm interested in today: (07.21.2025)
- Info/Data Fi projects 2.0.
Huge announcement out of the big K today that lines up basically exactly with what I suggested a month ago to a project that asked me how I would optimize a pre-TGE reward program.
The fact that everyone is constantly talking about info stuff (both positively and negatively) means it isn't going anywhere - it has captured the mind of CT. Winners intake this information and adapt.
Xeet also likely to have these features. Competition on good ideas is realllllly good for consumers.
- Trying new apps that I haven't yet.
I was looking at Time fun and Opinions fun over the weekend. Both have interesting value propositions.
For Time if you open an account there ppl can use you in Glympse - SOL version of Fantasy Top on top of the tokenizing your time concept. It also seems like the perfect solution for the "unread DMs" infinite backlog that many of us have from non-follows...
Opinions is a unique concept trying to allow ppl to monetize being early or right about viral opinions. The tagline I keep seeing from people is Opinions matter.
Not really sure the long term viability of a ton of these apps, but I think it's really good to see creatives trying to build interesting things...and I'm really glad we're seeing a destigmatization of putting things onchain.
As long as you aren't operating in bad faith or trying to scam ppl it shouldn't be controversial to coin things. Big props to Jesse Pollak for championing this mentality before many others.
- DeFi.
The further we go, the more convinced I become DeFi is the lifeblood of crypto. It's the foundational principle that allows clever financial engineering/turning ideas into composable money legos and lets real businesses build real value accrual streams.
Look at Uniswap. Look at Meteora. Look at Tether. Look at HL. These are all extremely valuable protocols and companies that exist purely as DeFi arbitrage vehicles.
But it goes further than that - DeFi can *REVITALIZE* projects and protocols that previously had been left behind. Hydration has done more for Polkadot awareness in the last year than any other protocol or parachain has in the last 3 years. They've got mid-9 figs in TVL and people both using the protocol and talking about it.
So yeah, I'm looking for undervalued DeFi spots...basically places where DeFi is going to force large value accrual/appreciation but the market hasn't figured it out yet. It's the golden age of stablecoins and decentralized finance. That's your edge - you know how these things work far better than the coming entrants.

- Crypto bill signings. We've got a bumper crop of real legislation headed to the White House today to finally give some semblance of framework for our magic internet money to not be forever vilified (even if it isn't perfect). It's the golden age. Also will be looking for a smidge more info on the EO that supposedly opens up 401k funds to crypto investment...if I'm understanding it correctly, it's big...and probably leads to a hilarious blowup eventually.
- Revenue generating businesses. For a very long time the traditional world has understood that cash flow and revenue are requirements for any business/project/side hustle. Crypto just straight up ignored this (mostly due to regulatory issues) for a long time. That's no longer the case, and I want to find some under the radar products/apps/protocols that are silently cooking with gas.
- Political risks for markets. Feels like every time in the last 6 months we've been close to breakout velocity something extremely weird/bad/etc has shown up and tanked things. I'm keeping a close eye out for anything that might spook the markets while SPY is charging through ATHs. Powell firing/Epstein Grand Jury shenanigans/major departures from WH policy staff...etc I don't really know what could come in to hurt us at this point, but I'm keeping my head on a swivel.
Hoping to have some more crypto-specific apps and toys to look at next week!
