🚨 Big milestone for JAM!
With the release of Graypaper 0.7.0, @gavofyork just opened the door for Milestone 1 (M1) submissions — the first real step toward bringing JAM to life.
No more just theory. Let’s break it down 🧵
1/
Starting now, teams can submit their M1 implementation – as executables that:
✅ Use the official CLI interface
✅ Pass all published M1 trace tests
✅ Are fuzz-tested by the core team for weeks
This is JAM’s first real proving ground.
2/
Submissions must follow strict rules:
All implementations (even minor fixes) must target the latest GP version – currently 0.7.0.
No outdated code. No exceptions.
3/
⚠️ But here’s the twist:
Before reviewing your code or commits, Gavin and team will fuzz your executable to ensure correctness.
Only after it passes will they audit your repo, commits, and coding style.
4/
Once your submission proves sound, your team will be invited to a technical interview.
This includes Gavin (as GP author) + any teams who already passed M1 — because passing M1 makes you a Fellowship Level 1 expert with the duty to judge others.
5/
🎓 What’s at stake?
✅ Official seat in the Polkadot Fellowship
✅ Contributor salary
✅ Real influence on JAM’s future
This isn’t just open source — it’s open institution-building.🕶️
6/
Alongside M1, Gavin also confirmed:
🌐 JAM testnets will begin soon
📅 Persistent through next GP release
💬 Dev room is open for use case discussion
JAM is entering its real development phase.
7/
This is a big moment for @Polkadot.
The JAM protocol is now:
✅ Specified
✅ Implemented
✅ Open for contribution
✅ Weeks away from testnet
Let’s build the future of decentralized compute — together.
Follow @polkaworld_org for all JAM updates!
