What is UMEE (UMEE)?
Umee is a layer 1, cross-chain DeFi protocol built on Cosmos that aims to be the hub for all things DeFi. With Cosmos' infrastructure, Umee allows for accessible communication and interoperability between multiple blockchains, including Ethereum, Bitcoin, Ethereum's sidechains and layer 2 chains, and other layer 1 blockchains created on Cosmos.
Umee is a cross-chain DeFi platform that easily integrates with money legos interconnecting multiple cross-network crypto markets. To achieve such interoperability, Umee is powered and secured with Tendermint Byzantine Fault Tolerance (BFT), a variant of the Proof-of-Stake (PoS) consensus mechanism.
