The Central African Republic will tokenize the land using the country's official Meme coin, CAR

PANews reported on May 30 that according to Decrypt, President Touadera of the Central African Republic announced that he will use the official meme token CAR to tokenize and sell more than 1,700 hectares of land west of the capital Bangui through the Solana blockchain from June. The presidential decree cites the country's mining regulations and resource tokenization laws, suggesting that the land may be used for gold and diamond mining.

Launched in February 2025 to raise national and international attention, the CAR token peaked at $884 million in market capitalization (down 92.7% from its all-time high). The land tokenization plan follows the transformation of Sango Coin, the country's national digital currency project, which announced on April 29 that it would end its original form and prepare for its restart.
