Been watching BOB’s momentum build over the last few months, and it’s starting to look like quite an interesting attempt to bridge BTC and DeFi.
What stands out is the infrastructure:
- BTC staking without bridges or custody
- Smart contracts with real EVM compatibility
- BitVM2 integrated for verifiable BTC access
- 1-click UX for BTC-native users
And unlike most BTC L2s that are still on the drawing board, @build_on_bob’s ecosystem is already seeing adoption, from Uniswap and Chainlink to Aave and @babylonlabs_io (where I’ve recently joined to help lead comms and growth).
The idea of hybrid BTC vaults, Bitcoin intents, and smart accounts that abstract seed phrases feels like a logical step forward, especially in a cycle where everyone’s looking at L2 infra and yield layers.
BOB is indeed positioning itself not just as “another rollup,” but, in my opinion as a chain purpose-built for unlocking BTC’s idle capital in a credibly neutral way.
Plenty of room to dig in early.
