Taiko Layer-2 Temporarily Pauses After Bridge Exploit The Ethereum $ETH Layer-2 network Taiko has temporarily halted operations following a detected bridge exploit affecting its cross-chain infrastructure. The project’s token dropped around 10 percent after news broke that an attacker successfully forged withdrawal proofs, leading to an estimated loss of approximately 1.7 million dollars. According to initial reports, the exploit resembles other high-profile bridge vulnerabilities seen across DeFi this year, once again highlighting ongoing risks within cross-chain systems. Despite the incident, the protocol’s rapid response helped contain the damage and prevent further fund leakage, which may have significantly reduced the overall impact. Bridge security continues to be one of the most critical weak points in crypto infrastructure, especially for Layer-2 and cross-chain protocols.
