glassnode: The activity of old BTC holders has increased, and the transfer volume of coin holders has reached $4.02 billion in 1-5 years
PANews reported on May 28 that according to glassnode data, the activity of old Bitcoin holders has increased significantly recently, with the total transfer volume of 1-5 year holders reaching $4.02 billion, the highest level since February this year. Among them, the 3-5 year coin holder group contributed 2.16 billion US dollars, the second highest in the current period, second only to the 6 billion US dollars in March 2024, the 2-3 year coin holder group contributed 1.41 billion US dollars, and the 1-2 year coin holder group contributed 450 million US dollars.
The transfer activity of the 1-5 year coin holder group is the fifth peak in the current period, which is mainly driven by old coin holders. Looking back at other transfer peaks in the cycle: $9.25 billion in October 2024 (1-2 years group leader), $6.11 billion in March 2024 (2-3 year group leader), $5.42 billion in February 2025 (2-3 year group leader), and $4.39 billion in November 2024 (3-5 year group leader). The current level of activity indicates that old coin holders are releasing bitcoin at an accelerated pace.
