What are the differences between OpenLedger and The Graph?
Both projects are data infrastructures for Web3, but their usage and thinking are completely different.
What is The Graph?
At its core is the "Subgraph" system, which means that to query certain data, someone must first write the corresponding Subgraph, and it has to follow specific formats and structures while also being able to write in their DSL.
👉 So ultimately, it’s more like a service where "you prepare it for me, and then I’ll query it," and maintaining these data nodes relies on Indexers, which are quite centralized.
🔍 What about @OpenledgerHQ?
It takes a different approach, more like a freely assembled data factory.
You can query and combine any data you want through open modules, allowing for free construction. The data is permissionless, meaning anyone can read it without needing official access or waiting for someone to write a subgraph.
Even more impressive is its modular design, which can be paired with ZK indexers and DA layers (like Celestia) in the future to achieve verifiable, cross-chain, and composable data calls.
In summary: The Graph is "what I decide you can use"; OpenLedger is "you can assemble whatever you want."

Tired of digging through chain data just to get a simple answer?Same. That’s why @OpenledgerHQ exists.
It’s an open, dev-friendly data layer built for the modular chain future where rollups, L2s, and appchains are everywhere, and finding reliable onchain data feels like a full-time job.
With OpenLedger, you can:
•Query onchain data instantly with GraphQL (no more reinventing the wheel)
•Stream real-time info from rollups, DA layers, and app-specific chains
•Build dashboards, alerts, leaderboards, analytics tools without spinning up your own indexer
📦 Whether you’re a dev, a data nerd, or building a dApp OpenLedger helps you focus on creating, not chasing fragmented data.Modular chains are the future.
OpenLedger makes that future actually usable.
If you’re building on chains like Celestia, Optimism, or any rollup stack you might want to keep an eye on this one !
