其核心组件 Metalayer 是一个跨链互操作性框架，其中包含两个关键部分：一是意图引擎，用于简化复杂的跨链操作流程；二是消息传递协议，支持多个 Caldera 链之间跨网络的实时数据传输。
这两者的结合使 Metalayer 成为一个无缝、安全且高效的跨链平台。
在 Rollup 的技术堆栈方面，Optimistic Rollups 可选用 Optimism Bedrock 和 Arbitrum Nitro，而 Zero-Knowledge Rollups 则有 Polygon CDK 和 ZK Stack 可供选择。
开发者在 Caldera 上可以通过模块化组件自由组合这四种技术堆栈。
在发链功能上，Caldera 支持自定义 Gas 代币，并可选择 Celestia 或 Near 作为数据可用性层（Data Availability）的解决方案。此外，它还支持去中心化排序器，避免了集中式排序器可能出现的单点故障和 MEV（矿工可提取价值）问题。
